I DON’T CRY ANYMORE
You were my best friend.
My sister.
My soul mate.
God created you for me.
But I refuse to be abused
By your words and by your actions
Though they came from a place
Of hurt and insecurity.
There is, was and never will be
An excuse for the way you treated me.
Cast aside as if I were just some
Somebody you knew in passing.
You knew the depths of my soul
Or at least I thought you did.
There is no adhesive that can ever repair
The irreparable tears in my heart
Shattered.
Bruised.
But I don’t cry anymore
Because I finally let it go
Though I have forgiven you
I know now
That I can only love you from afar.
