A POEM A DAY 34

GLITTER & GLIM

Do you ever wish

You could take an eraser

And erase her

Or maybe even him

From the very pages

In your life

Where discontent and strife

Left you feeling gloomy and dim

Remember those days

Full of dark clouds and rain

When you had to refrain

From bubbling over the brim

Those days when madness lay

Two feet away

And you couldn’t feel the rhythm

Of your own heartbeat

And you couldn’t retreat

Because you couldn’t swim

Through all the bullshit he spewed

Because it left you dazed and confused

Just hanging there out on a limb

Though you can’t take an eraser

And erase her

Or him

You can take solace in knowing

That life is ongoing

And bask in the glitter and glim.
