A POEM A DAY 43

INTO THE ABYSS

 My alarm clock rings
 I'm too tired to move
 I reach for my phone
 I tap the snooze
 I try to catch
 A few more winks
 But my mind
 Slowly sinks
 Into the abyss
 Where sorrow does kiss
 The light within my soul
 Eventually I fold
 And I rise
 In absolute despise
 Of the abyss
 And her morning kiss
