A POEM A DAY 45

RESIDES INSIDE

 He holds hidden sorrows
 Behind his eyes
 That no one can see
 From these sorrows
 He wished to be free
But how can one be free
 Of what resides inside
 A whole but shattered heart
 Shattered by lies
 And wolves disguised
 In love's clothing
 Though he may smile
 And laugh and jest
 They are just shields
 That help protect
 His bruised and battered heart
