A POEM A DAY 48

SILENT EXCHANGE

She was woven into the fabric of my being

I knew how she felt sometimes without even seeing

Though others would simply pass her by

I could tell by the forlorn look in her eyes

That the weight of her world was heavy, indeed

And of a wordless hug she was in need

We’d embrace in silent exchange

To an onlooker it would seem strange

But, we too understood each unspoken word

For a conversation between souls doesn’t need to be heard
