I have never been struck before

I question its validity
And I fear I may retreat
To the comfort of 
My safety zone
Of solitude
Alone at home
Just me
Myself and I
Eating ice cream
And blueberry pie
But I am stricken

It lies on my lips
Like a delicate treat
