A POEM A DAY 85

MEMORY TORN

She's not insane, nor is she crazy
Sometimes her thoughts get a little hazy
Sometimes when her mind is engrossed in thought
She remembers the things she once forgot
Like the names of her mother
Her sisters and her brother
Her husband and friends
And the feel of the wind
As she strolled along the sandy shores
Taking in the great outdoors
She'll recall the sound of a Bryan's wren
And when she scrapped her knee when she was ten
Now she doesn’t always remember her kids
But her memory is triggered when she eats figs
She'll remember each one and the day they were born
But not their names cause her memory is torn
She's not insane, nor is she crazy
Sometimes her thoughts get a little hazy
