A POEM A DAY 88

LOVE LAID DEAD

I remember they day
That I knew
I would never have
Sex with him again
It was the day
He criticized my weight
In that moment of callousness
Love was slain
Love, she laid dead
At his feet
And he didn’t even
Recognize
Because he was too
Self-absorbed to see
The expeditiousness of her
Demise
When I drove away that day
I never looked back
He showed me who he was
And his magnitude of lack.

Yes, poor him. Some people are so broken that they cant recognize love when its staring them in the face or even the fact that it has died.
