A POEM A DAY 89

MR. KRUMB

Louis and Lucy
Should have never been partners
At least not in the science lab
They acted like kindergarteners
Even though they were in 9th grade
And were expected to know better
Someone should have told Mr. Krumb
In an anonymous letter
That he was dimwitted and her head full of air
Between the two of them
Not a brain to spare
They didn’t listen
As Mr. Krumb gave instruction
A sure sign
Of the coming destruction
They combined the materials
Without the slightest notion
That the chemical reaction
Would cause an explosion
And what an explosion it was
Lucy lost an eye and Louis a thumb
That was they day
They retired Mr. Krumb
They told us he went
To live on an island
But in all actuality
He was sent to the asylum
