A POEM A DAY 90

WHEN DARKNESS FELL

When darkness fell
And her eyes no longer shined
You would expect him
To be compassionate and kind
But he was just the opposite
Heartless and cruel
No one had taught him
The golden rule
Treat others as you
Wished to be treated
But he couldn’t because
He was thoughtless and conceited
He cared for his dying dog
With love and compassion
And treated the woman he "loved"
With disdain and dispassion
