A POEM A DAY 160

the venditte effect

You would be so beautiful
If you weren't so bitter
What happened in life
That caused you to wither?
And your light inside
To slowly dim?
What happened to make
Your outlook so grim?
When did you lose sight
Of who you are?
My Sista-Queen
You are a star
That fell from heaven
Not by chance
But by destiny
You were meant to dance
To shimmer and shine
Like gold-colored glitter
And have the grace
Of a switch pitcher
Like Pat Venditte on the mound
So calm and so cool
That MLB had to
Create a new rule!
