BURNING BRIDGES
"Don't burn your bridges" Humph! Is say, pour the gasoline, Light a match And watch them burn! Because some bridges Aren't meant to be crossed again Because of lessons learned Maybe you've learned They'll never change And it's okay to be estranged From someone who has Lost their trust in you Or maybe they never Had it to begin with And you didn’t have a clue But now you see Because your eyes Have been opened To the bankruptcy of Their mind that was orphaned By a hurt that They can't acknowledge So much so That it caused them To submerge So deep in their hurt That they lost sight Of who you are And with their actions Created a scar Upon your heart That is unhealable And now the once Bond unbreakable Is broken By carless words spoken In that moment you learned That it's okay to burn Broken and unmendable bridges So, you poured the gasoline Stuck a match And watched what was Once pristine Burn in a fiery blaze To the ground Then you looked around And you found New planks and beams With upon to build New bridges That lead to new ridges And mountains to climb And you walked into the sublime Simona A.
