A POEM A DAY 198

SHATTERED HEART THIEF

My heart was scattered
To and fro
But to you
It didn’t matter
You could have cared less
So, I picked up the mess
One shard at a time
Some pieces so small and fine
That I thought I'd go blind
Or lose my mind
During my desperate search
Like a bird, I was perched
Upon twigs and vines
Hoping to find
With discerning eyes
A tiny glint in the sand
I sifted through dirt and debris
With these two hands
Until I found
All but one piece
Cause you took it with you
You shattered heart thief
