A POEM A DAY 226

AT THE LAZY FLAMINGO

At the Lazy Flamingo
With pen in one hand
And steamed gulf shrimp in the other
On the Isle of Captiva
Soft salty breeze blowing
Words flowing
My thoughts adrift
On the waters of Mexico's Gulf
Where will they go
Who could know
Maybe some far distant shore
Or maybe they'll be caught
In a fisher's net
Only to wind up
Back at the Lazy Flamingo
As tomorrow's catch of the day
