A POEM A DAY 264

END OF THE WORLD

I would have
Had you asked
Walked to the ends of
The world with you
But you never asked
Cause you didn’t have a clue
How to nurture love
So, it never grew
It never felt the sun
Or glimpsed the skies of blue
Unlike marigolds
It was never kissed by dew
Or heard the tenderness
Of a kitten's mew
It never saw a sunrise
Or a sunset's hue
I'll break this down
Into words of few
Love was never meant
Between us two
