A POEM A DAY 333

REFLECTION

Who is this woman
Staring back at me
With pained deadness
In her eyes
She couldn't be me
This mirror deceives
And surely distorts
I close my eyes
To clear the haze
But when they open
There she remains
A lost and listless soul
I still don't recognize her
For the light in her eyes
Is gone
She is not the me
That I know
Because I am light and love
This woman peering back at me
Is misery and sadness
Devoid of light
She is the reflection of
The sadness in my soul
