A POEM A DAY 71

MY CONsTANT COMPANION

She is my constant companion
She is with me where ever I go
She's been there in my highest of highs
And in the depths of my lows
We've walked down sandy beaches
And trampled through the snow
We've climbed mountains
And seen places where waterfalls flow
We have cried and we have laughed
We've watched children grow
Together we have risen and fell
We have reaped and we have sowed
We have stood in the eye of many storms
We have watched lightening and heard thunder roll
Her name is Depression
And she is afflicted with woe
If I had the strength
I'd take a backhoe
Dig a deep hole
And lay her to rest at least ten feet below
