To Be—Anyway
To live or give up—that is the question.
Is it better to keep taking every hit life throws,
or to finally say, I’m done
and end the pain for good?
Dying sounds like sleep—
quiet, peaceful, no more stress,
no more heartbreak, no more pretending everything is fine.
But what if death is not the end?
What if something comes after,
and it is worse than what we are escaping?
That uncertainty keeps us here.
We tolerate bad jobs, broken relationships, injustice, loneliness,
and people who make life harder than it should be
because the unknown frightens us more than the pain we already know.
So—to be or not to be?
Be.
Not because life is easy,
but because tomorrow has not spoken yet.
