OPEN HOUSE
My heart keeps an open house
The door is never locked
All it’s simply waiting for
Is to hear your earnest knock

My love has no disguise Or nefarious intent It travels a straight line It is neither broken nor bent No contingency or condition I give it freely To the one whom I love I give it completely Simona A. Brinson

What is it that has the power To subdue the impregnable heart? I say it be love above all else For the nature of love Was in the BEGINNING When God created Adam In his image Yes, it be love That subdues the impregnable heart! For the nature of love Was in the END When God forsook his only Son That we may live Simona A. Brinson

Silent screams resonate
Through the night
But no one takes heed
To this soul in need
Or cares about his plight
Alone and dejected
A lost soul rejected
On the verge of
Giving up the fight

Storms rage from deep within Calm seas rise My eyes well with tears And the room fills with muted cries In the silence of night As I sit alone In the eye of the 'cane The calm before the storm Tears fall like sprinkled rain In the silence of night The rain then turns to fury As CAT5 winds begin to blow But there's no one around to hear So no one else will know What goes on In the silence of night Simona A. She was woven into the fabric of my being
I knew how she felt sometimes without even seeing
Though others would simply pass her by
I could tell by the forlorn look in her eyes
That the weight of her world was heavy, indeed
And of a wordless hug she was in need
We’d embrace in silent exchange
To an onlooker it would seem strange
But, we too understood each unspoken word
For a conversation between souls doesn’t need to be heard

She had sworn off love Resigned to a life alone But then one day An Angel walked in And it was as if Jesus had placed his hand On her heart and said, "Ephphatha!" —"Be opened!"— And immediately her heart Was opened again To the possibility of love Simona A. Brinson

He holds hidden sorrows Behind his eyes That no one can see From these sorrows He wished to be free But how can one be free Of what resides inside A whole but shattered heart Shattered by lies And wolves disguised In love's clothing Though he may smile And laugh and jest They are just shields That help protect His bruised and battered heart Simona A. I wanted him to love me But how could he When he didn’t even Love himself enough To climb out of the depths Of his own despair He was so blinded By his own depravity That he couldn’t see Or appreciate the love That stood before him Simona A Brinson
